What the terminal allows you before it starts charging for the ground your container is standing on, taken from the port's own published tariff. This is not your carrier's free time — that lives in your service contract, differs between two importers on the same vessel, and nobody can publish it for you.
- Fremantle AUFRE3 free days at the terminal
Patrick Fremantle charges AUD 255.60 per TEU a day after three working days, the same storage as Sydney. Its landside charge is AUD 96.13, the lowest in Australia.
- Jebel Ali AEJEA10 free days at the terminal
Port storage charges at Jebel Ali: 10 free days from discharge, then AED 82 to AED 306 a day by size and band. The published rates, and the clock they are not.
- Khalifa Port AEKHL10 free days at the terminal
Storage at Khalifa Port, Abu Dhabi: 10 free days, then AED 82 to AED 306 a day at the CMA terminal. The same bands as Jebel Ali, and no extra free days for volume.
- Mundra INMUN2 free days at the terminal
At Mundra all three container terminals publish the same storage tariff. An import container gets two free days if it leaves by road and ten if it leaves by rail.
- Nhava Sheva INNSA3 free days at the terminal
At Nhava Sheva an import container gets two or three free days, depending on which of the port's five terminals the vessel worked. The published rates, side by side.
- Port Botany, Sydney AUSYD3 free days at the terminal
Patrick Sydney AutoStrad allows three working days including the day of availability, then AUD 255.60 per TEU a day — the same rate it charges in Melbourne.
- Port Houston USHOU7 free days at the terminal
Free time and demurrage at Port Houston: 7 free days on a loaded import container, $35.79 to $94.80 a day after that, and a separate dwell fee from day eight.
- Port of Los Angeles USLAX4 free days at the terminal
Free time and wharf demurrage at the Port of Los Angeles: 4 free days on a foreign-trade import container, then $26.36 to $275.38 a day by container length.
- Port of Melbourne AUMEL3 free days at the terminal
Storage at the Port of Melbourne: VICT allows three calendar days, Patrick three working days including the day of availability. Same number, two deadlines.
- Port of Seattle USSEA4 free days at the terminal
Free time and wharf demurrage at Seattle under NWSA Tariff No. 300: four free days on an import container, weekends not counted, then $26.87 a day.

Free time at Singapore is counted in working days. ONE's published tariff allows 4 for import demurrage and 6 for detention, excluding weekends and public holidays.
